California Lovin'... The Lovemakers
Music submission: California-based band The Lovemakers (comprised of ex-couple Scott Blonde and Lisa Light, and Jason Proctor) is producing something of a buzz with their New Wave dancey pop-rock melodies and onstage sexual antics. Their live performances are liberally sprinkled with vibrators, impromptu make-out sessions and the occasional stripping of clothes. (You can indulge yourself in viewing photos of their live performances on their website. Easy now, boy.) Their major label debut, Times of Romance (Cherrytree/Interscope), is piquing some interest these days and comes complete with a 3 star review by Rolling Stone. Perhaps too polished for some tastes, I do credit them for being chock full of hooks and dancey beats. In the new age of New Wave revivals, that's all that seems to count.
They sent me the first single off their debut album, Times of Romance:

I get their novelty act but it doesn't sway me one way of another. The music isn't my cup of tea but I'm pretty sure that people will eventually catch on.
